The Herd took the opening drive right down the field to take a 7-0 lead.  They managed just 2 first downs the rest of the way.

(9) Penn State 30 (8) UCLA 24

The Nittany Lions built a 30-3 fourth quarter lead, surviving a frantic Bruins rally.

(5) Wake Forest 31 (12) South Carolina 21

Sam Hartman was Heisman like against the Gamecocks, putting up more than 400 yards and 4 TDs as SC never really got into the game.

(4) Iowa 17 (13) Florida 10

As usual the Hawkeyes offense neither needed to or actually provided much offense.

(3) Kentucky 31 (14) Virginia Tech 7

The Wildcats D feasted on the Hokies, scoring two of UK’s TDS.

(6) Purdue 27 (11) San Diego St 21

The Boilers almost tasted the other end of the upset, but pulled through a late TD reception by David Bell.

(7) Clemson 30 (10) Fresno St 20

The Tigers struggled to run the ball against Fresno, and went into the fourth quarter tied at 17.  The D forced three Bulldogs turnovers in the fourth quarter sealed the deal.

(2) Ole Miss 41 (15) Utah State 28

The Aggies held a 21-10 halftime lead riding 4 first half turnovers, but Matt Corral was inhuman in the second half and USU couldn’t keep up.

(1) Alabama 42 (16) Miami 24

(8) Iowa State 38 (9) Texas Tech 21

The Cyclones were one of 2021’s biggest disappointments, but you wouldn’t have known it here.  Breece Hall and Brock Purdy both accounted for three TDs as Iowa State rolled.

(5) NC State 35 (12) Virginia 27

The Wolfpack survive a shootout that saw nearly a thousand yards of offense.

(4) Oregon 34 (13) Boston College 10

The Ducks offense couldn’t get on track in the first half, leading 10-0 at the break with the one TD being a blocked punt recovery in the endzone, but pulled away late.

(3) Pitt 41 (14) North Carolina 31

A few more fireworks than when these teams played a few weeks ago, but the same result.

(6) Texas A&M 13 (11) Kansas St 3

The Aggies barely topped 250 yards in offense.  Not a problem when your D keeps the Wildcats under 200.

(10) SMU 42 (7) Arizona State 38

Jayden Daniels played the game of his life, topping 400 and 5 TDs, but the Sun Devils’ D couldn’t stop the Mustangs, either.

(2) Cincinnati 42 (15) Rutgers 23

Rutgers played the Bearcats tough for most of the first half, but were just overmatched.

(1) Michigan 34 (16) Nebraska 20

The ‘Huskers didn’t embarrass themselves, but they couldn’t do a thing with the Wolverines run game.

(8) UTSA 38 (9) Oregon St 13

The Roadrunners served notice that their 11 wins was no fluke by dismantling the Beavers.

(5) Utah 37 (12) Missouri 10

6 Missou turnovers kept the Utes on a short field; this one was over early.

(4) Oklahoma 42 (13) LSU 17

Not long ago this would have been a game.

(3) BYU 43 (14) Maryland 16

The Cougars dominated the first half, but only led 15-10; 5 red zone trips, 5 FGs.  That wasn’t a problem in the second half.

(6) Wisconsin 31 (11) Air Force 17

The Falcons gave the Badgers H@ll, but the Badgers ground down the lines to pull away.

(7) Houston 42 (10) Tennessee 38

The Cougars out ran the Vols in a game with no defense whatsover.

(2) Baylor 49 (15) Liberty 7

The Flames weren’t ready for Big Boy Football.

(1) Oklahoma St 42 (16) Washington 10

The Pac 12 continued to embarrass itself.

(9) Auburn 31 (8) Mississippi St 17

Fresh off a near upset in the Iron Bowl, the Tigers hold the High powered passing game in check.

(5) Arkansas 42 (12) Louisiana 20

KJ Jefferson all but beat the Cajuns singlehandedly, accounting for all 6 TDs… 3 on the ground and 3 through the air.

(4) Michigan State 37 (13) Texas 28

Just as they have all year, the Longhorns kept it interesting for a while before falling short.

(14) Army 31 (3) Notre Dame 28

The Army option attack destroyed the Irish D, ricking up 400 + on the ground. two 4th quarter Jack Coan interceptions sealed the upset.

(6) Minnesota 30 (11) Washington St 20

The Gophers ground game kept the Cougars off the field, piling up more than 40 minutes time of possession.

(7) App State 33 (10) Coastal Carolina 17

The MThe Mountaineers make it a clean sweep, dismissing Coastal in more convincing fashion this time.

(2) Ohio State 63 (15) Boise State 21

The Buckeyes were up by four TDs in the first quarter.
