17. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1)
Lost to Las Vegas 26-17
And herein lies the problem for the Steelers. When that D is firing on all cylinders, all Old Ben has to do is not screw it up. There will be times they need him to win games… and like Sunday, he isn’t able to any more.
18. Miami Dolphins (1-1)
Lost to Buffalo 35-0
First, this @ss whoopin had nothing to do with Tua being hurt. The score wouldn’t have been any different if he had stayed in. The Dolphins continue to be a very good team without a real QB.
19. Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
Beat LA Chargers 20-17
If we’re being honest, the Chargers gave this one away. But the Cowboys D was respectable, and the running game was on point for the first time in what… a couple of years?
20. New Orleans Saints (1-1)
Lost to Carolina 26-7
Now that’s the Jameis Winston we all remember.
21. Minnesota Vikings (0-2)
Lost to Arizona 34-33
The Vikings did damn near everything right. Cousins was solid. Dalvin Cook was lights out. That O pretty much had its way with hat looks like a pretty good Cardinals D. The Pass rush was there. You knew the D wasn’t really going to stop anyone, but the they even threw in a few very timely turnovers.. Cousins was even good during crunch time. Yup, the Vikings did almost everything right… except win.
22. Washington Nameless (1-1)
I honestly thought the WFT season was over when Fitzmagic went down. But with this D, all Taylor Heinicke has to do is be average. Thursday he was more than average. The pick was terrible, but he more than made up for it on the game winning drive.
23. New England Patriots (1-1)
Even against a terrible team… a team with a hugely over rated rookie QB playing terribly… the Pats still managed to be completely unimpressive.
24. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)
Lost to San Francisco 17-11
There’s reason for optimism after seeing the Eagles D rise up on Sunday, but it’s offset by a terrible showing on the offensive side. Other than the one long pass, Hurts was completely ineffective.
25. New York Giants (0-2)
Lost to Washington 30-29
For once you can’t hang a Giants’ loss on Daniel Jones. In fact, Jones was spectacular. There may be better running QBs in the NFL, but there’s no QB in the league who runs the sweep like this guy… it’s a thing of beauty.
26. Chicago Bears (1-1)
Beat Cincinnati 20-17
Justin Fields made some very rookie-ish mistakes, but he also showed flashes of brilliance. That D, though, reminded us all that they can still do some damage.
27. Cincinnati Bengals (1-1)
Lost to Chicago 20-17
Joe Burrow looked like the rookie QB on the field this week, but the Bears D can still do that on a good day. Resilience was shown in that late comeback, but what we really saw was that no matter how good your skill players are, it’s hard to do win in the NFL when you have a garbage O line.
28. Detroit Lions (0-2)
Lost to Green Bay 35-17
The Lions looked good in the first half, but remembered who they are in the second.
29. Houston Texans (1-1)
Lost to Cleveland 31-21
Man, I’m becoming a Tyrod Taylor fan… He had the Texans going blow for blow with the Browns. And this is not a good offensive roster. If he stays healthy the Texans might even win a few more games.
30. Atlanta Falcons (0-2)
Lost to Tompa Bay 45-28
All the d@mn respect in the world to Matty Ice…. He had the Falcons in this thing until the fourth quarter. That might be the most impressive thing we saw in week 2.
31. New York Jets (0-2)
Lost to New England 25-6
Zach Wilson = Ryan Leaf. Google it.
32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
Lost to Denver 23-13
Lawrence look decent in week one, but that was the Texans D. This was the Broncos D, and he looked like exactly what he was… a rookie in his second game up against one of the NFL’s best units. He still had his moments but with the lack of talent around him… man, 2021 is going to be a long year for this kid.
