Sam Darnold has made himself right at home in Carolina. The Texans are better than most of us thought they would be, but that’s pretty much all on QB Tyrod Taylor… who’s out with a hamstring injury. The Honeymoon continues for Darnold.
Carolina 34 Houston 17
Taylor Heinecke did just enough to carry the Nameless Ones past the Giants, but he’ll need to do far more to get them past the Bills… even with that D. Don’t hold your breath.
Buffalo 27 Washington 13
The Vikings can’t close a game out any more; if there’s a way to lose, they’ll find it. Fortunately, the Seahawks D is awful, so Minnesota should be able to build a lead they won’t blow.
Minnesota 35 Seattle 31
The Saints now find themselves where the Bucs used to be… wondering which Jameis Winston is going to show up. This week Good Jameis shows up.
New Orleans 30 New England 24
The Lions have looked better than anyone really thought they would. They’ll continue to be competitive, but the Ravens are too much for Detroit.
Baltimore 34 Detroit 24
The Packers found their rhythm against Detroit, but are they ready for San Francisco? They are.
Green Bay 31 San Francisco 28
Teddy B is looking like a Pro Bowl QB. Zach Wilson is looking like… A New York Jets QB.
Denver 31 NY Jets 13
Someone actually has to win here, right? Both offenses are surprisingly bad, so there won’t be many points scored. When two bad teams play, turnovers tell the tale. And Daniel Jones is the turnover king.
Atlanta 20 New York Giants 17
The Raiders are looking like one of the surprise teams of 2021… The Dolphins aren’t sure which mediocre QB is going to play. The Raider’s resurgence continues for another week.
Las Vegas 27 Miami 16
Two teams heading in different directions. The Titans are learning that Julio Jones is exactly what they needed. The Colts are learning that Carson Wentz isn’t.
Tennessee 31 Indianapolis 20
Two teams coming off of upset losses, neither of which can afford a 1-2 start. The Chiefs look as vulnerable as they have in the Mahomes era. The Chargers don’t have the running game Cleveland and Baltimore did, but the D is there.
LA Chargers 34 Kansas City 31
The Cardinals are flying high; don’t look for the Jags to bring them down.
Arizona 41 Jacksonville 14
Game of the year so far. The Bucs have picked up where they left off, but this week they have to go into LA to take on the Rams. Not a lot of defenses around who can go toe to toe with Tompa Bay, but this is one of them. This could be an early season shift of power.
LA RAMS 35 Tompa Bay 31
As good as Joey B is, he still struggles against good defenses. and while Old Ben and the O won’t provide much support, but it will be enough this week.
Pittsburgh 24 Cincinnati 21
The Bears D wrecked Jo Burrow…. it won’t be that easy with Hunt and Chubb running down their throat.
Cleveland 35 Chicago 17
The Eagles are another team that has looked better than most thought they would. But while Mike McCarthy will no doubt find a way to screw this one up and keep the Eagles in the game, Zach and the ‘Boys should still be able to put up enough points to outpace the Iggles lackluster attack.
Dallas 27 Philadelphia 20
