2020 Record: 5-4
5 ⭐ ………. 0
4 ⭐………. 0
3 ⭐………. 9
The Warriors 2020 has to be considered a success. 5-4 may not look great on paper, but when you see that both sides of the ball developed slowly in the COVID year, ending the year with a win over Houston wasn’t bad at all.
The entire offense will again run through two players: Chevin Cordeiro and Calvin Turner. There probably isn’t a better one-two punch in the MWC. The D was far better than expected in 2020, and should be even better in 2021.
If Things Go Well:
The Warriors might surprise some folks in 2021. The offense will score points, and if the D improves, there’s an outside shot at a conference title.
If They Don’t
The problem with relying on 2 stars is that a good D will be able to stop you if they can contain them, and there are some good defenses in the MWC this year. The D should be good, but not good enough to carry them if the offense struggles.
The conference title talks are a bit ambitious, but Hawaii should once again make their way to the post season this year.
