2020 Record: 7-5
5 ⭐ ……….
3 ⭐………. 20
7-5 may not seem like a big deal, but the Roadrunners took a huge step forward in 2020… ergo: they learned how to play offense again. There was talent, but the success centered RB Sincere McCormick was a beast; 1,500 years and 11 TDs. Other than a dud against FAU, UTSA was close in every loss.
2021 could be a breakout year for the Roadrunners. McCormick is back, along with one of the best run blocking lines in college football. The passing game was average, and needs to be better. The D will be solid, and the schedule is favorable.
If Things Go Well
The toughest game on the schedule is Illinois, and the Illini won’t be very good. If the wheels keep rolling, and the passing game figures out how to stretch the field a bit… they could run the table.
If They Don’t
If the passing game falls on its face… and it could…. 2021 will be an average year for UTSA.
This should be the Roadrunners’ year. Undefeated is a bit of a reach, although it’s not impossible… but a Conference USA title should absolutely be the goal.
